Deep-tow magnetic measurements across the axial valley of the Mid-Atlantic Ridge
Abstract
Deep-tow magnetic measurements obtained across the axial valley of the Mid-Atlantic ridge (Mar) in the French-American Mid-Oceanic Undersea Study (Famous) demonstrate that there is asymmetric spreading area in this region. In addition, model studies indicate that the Jaramillo event appears to be split. The Blake event is recorded along one profile, but its veracity is uncertain.
