Choice of polarization in orthogonal polarization frequency reuse for satellite links
Abstract
Frequency reuse will be necessary to maximize the transmission capacity of the European communications satellite. A study of the causes of degradation of linear and circularly polarized signals in a satellite to ground station link has shown that linear polarization appears to be the most suitable technique.
