Determination of the coordinates of the pivot center in the contact method of investigations.
Abstract
The method presented utilizes measurements of the radial displacements of the pivots by a contact probe in order to find the X and Y coordinates of the pivot center. The method is independent of the shape of the probe, its mode of contact with the pivot, and the shape of the bearing. It is shown that the use of the algebraic equations used for calculating the pivot irregularity is superior to calculating the irregularities through the use of a Fourier series expansion.
