Mixing process in a free turbulent flame jet and in a regular jet
Abstract
The behavior of the diffusion coefficient of a cold-methane jet and of a turbulent methane flame jet is studied experimentally. The relationship between the diffusion coefficient and the mixing process is examined. The degree of turbulence in the flame jet and in the regular jet is measured by a diffusion technique. It is shown that changes in the distribution of the pulsation rate are responsible for the difference in the mixing rate.
