Method for weighted charge summation in bucket-brigade circuits
Abstract
It is shown that weighted-charge summation in bucket-brigade circuits for transversal filter applications can be realized if the bucket-brigade circuit is built using an arbitrary m-pole instead of the simple capacitance array. The array capacitors of a capacitive summing network are replaced by a capacitive m-pole, and it is shown that for open outputs in the resulting summing network, the charge extracted from an array node is equal to the charge previously filled into the same node and is independent of the charging of the other nodes. Therefore, the line is not dispersive, which is an essential condition for obtaining weighted summing.
