A method of recording the three coordinates of defects in ultrasonic inspection
Abstract
Description of a technique for measuring and recording the location of a defect in welded joints by ultrasonic inspection. The three spatial coordinates of the weld discontinuity are measured by a multichannel recorder where each channel is used to record the position of the defect along a different plane. The operation of the instrument is explained by describing temporal relationships among the return signals and the timing and strobing sequences.
