A Worm's-eye View of the Mass Density in the Universe
Abstract
A superlocal determination of the mean mass density in the universe depending mostly on the Local Group is derived. Since this estimate is obtained by utilizing the dynamics of the aggregates of galaxies the mass used should include all 'missing' mass present. Results show the Local Group to be a more representative sample of the universe than the great clusters. The appropriateness of the various assumptions is discussed.
