Bifurcation of a T-periodic flow towards an nT-periodic flow and their non-linear stabilities
Abstract
A T-periodic flow considered as a solution of the Navier-Stokes equations is assumed to become unstable when a certain parameter attains a critical value. Sufficient conditions are derived for obtaining new periodic solutions with multiple period nT. The stability of these solutions is investigated.
