Design of mitered H-plane elbows for dominant mode waveguide
Abstract
The behavior of a mitered 90 deg elbow with recessed mirror has been calculated in a rigorous way, using Kuehn's mode-matching method. A VSWR less than 1.06 can be obtained within 1/6 to 1/3 of the usual waveguide band. Curves showing VSWR and phase of the transmission coefficient versus frequency are given for different mirror positions which tune the point of ideal match across the waveguide band.
