The flow over a porous body - A singular perturbation problem with two parameters
Abstract
The viscous, incompressible, two-dimensional flow over a porous body with continuous injection or suction normal to the surface is treated as a singular perturbation problem with two parameters. The behavior of the solutions to the Navier-Stokes equations near the stagnation point is studied as a function of the two perturbation parameters. Three domains can be distinguished, depending on the relationship between the two parameters. Each domain corresponds to a different singular perturbation problem that can be solved by the method of matched asymptotic expansions.
