Core-helium-burning stars in extremely young clusters.
Abstract
Recent theoretical core-helium-burning evolutionary sequences for stars in the mass range 8- 30 a are compared with H-R diagrams of extremely young clusters in the Galaxy and the Magellanic Clouds. The observations are not sufficient to determine whether the chemical composition gradient should be included (case A) or neglected (case B) in the criterion for convective neutrality, when calculating the abundance distributions in semiconvective zones.
