Determination of the mass of 87Y
Abstract
The mass excess of 87Y has been determined to be -83 001.4 ± 1.5 keV by measuring the Q-values of the reactions 86Sr(p, γ) 87Y and 87Sr(p, n) 87Y, which were found to be 5785.4 ± 3.3 keV and -2643.5 ± 1.5 keV, respectively. The mass of 87Y given in the 1970 mass tables appears to be in error, although the 87Sr- 86Sr mass excess difference given in that compilation is in agreement with the present work.
