GRB 210205B: AGILE/MCAL detection of a burst
Abstract
The AGILE Mini-CALorimeter (MCAL) detected a short burst at T0 = 2021-02-05 14:46:09.14 +/- 0.01 s (UTC). The event lasted about 0.10 s and released a total number of ~94 counts in the detector (in the 0.4-100 MeV energy range), above an average background rate of 516 Hz, corresponding to a peak significance of ~8 sigma. The MCAL light curve shows a single peak and can be found at http://www.agilescienceapp.it/notices/071632_GRB_MCAL_539621169.143570.png . The AGILE-MCAL detector is a CsI detector with a 4 pi FoV, sensitive in the energy range 0.4-100 MeV. Additional analysis of AGILE data is in progress.
