Effects of structures of microemulsions containing a deep eutectic solvent on the entrapment amount and the skin permeation of resveratrol
Abstract
The effects of the structures and the compositions of microemulsions (MEs) with different ratios of deep eutectic solvent to water in the inner phase on the entrapment amount of resveratrol (RSV) in MEs and the transdermal amount of RSV were investigated. The structures of MEs were determined by analysis of the small-angle X-ray scattering profile with Kratky plots and core-corona model. Results showed that the entrapment amount of RSV in MEs increased with the increasing size of the inner phase of MEs, and transdermal amount of RSV was influenced by the entrapment amount of RSV in MEs as well as the size of MEs.
