What Can Really Old Red and White Rocks Tell Us About Breathing Air on Our World A Long Time Ago?
Abstract
The air on our world has not always been good for breathing. Just after our world formed and in fact a long time after that, there wasn't much breathing air for big animals like us. But in the big deep water we think there were tiny animals that made breathing air. We also think that these tiny animals helped to make big rocks with red and white bands. People have looked carefully at the red and white bands and think that breathing air played an important part in how these rocks were made. We then looked carefully at the tiny blocks that the rocks were made of with big money bad ass things and saw that the direction that the tiny blocks were pointing in wasn't always the same as the direction of the rock. This told us about how the rocks changed through time. We think that our work also tells us about the tiny animals that helped make the red and white rocks and maybe even how our world got to have lots of breathing air for big animals like us.
