Mars Climate Controls Atmospheric Escape: Dust-Driven Escape from Surface to Space with MRO/MCS, TGO/NOMAD, TGO/ACS, and MAVEN/IUVS
Abstract
By combining measurements from five instruments on three missions, we show that dust storms drive hydrogen loss from the planet, capturing most steps in the escape chain for the first time. These results show that present climate can control H loss.
