Calibration and Validation of FORMOSAT-7/COSMIC-2 : TROPS Preliminary Results
Abstract
The Six FORMOSAT-7/COSMIC-2 satellites had been launched on 25th July, 2019. The TGRS also had been turn on to measure the atmospheric profiles after one month box optimization. The orbital inclination of FORMOSAT-7/COSMIC-2 is 24 degree, and receive GLONASS and GPS signals, estimate to have more 3-4 times profiles than FORMOSAT-3/COSMIC around tropical region, and expecting to measure better quality and could reach lower atmosphere, due to the GNSS better antenna and receivers. The quality of raw data and products retrieved by TROPS (Taiwan Radio Occultation Process System) will been report in this study, include the precision of satellite orbit and clock, bending angle, refraction and temperature. The TROPS is developed by NSPO and Taiwan scientific team for retrieving . Although at the time of submitting this abstract, the FOMOSAT-7/COSMIC are still on the calibrating and validating phase, hope to present the best results in AGU meeting.
