Simulations of Caliste-SO detectors
Abstract
The Caliste-SO is CdTe pixelized X-ray detector designed for STIX instrument. Our aim was to simulate a response of the detector to X-ray flux using Geant4 and compare it to laboratory measurements. The detectors were illuminated with X-ray sources Am241 and Co57 in several configurations (various temeperatures, voltages etc.). Moreover, Monte Carlo simulations of the detector response have been performed for each laboratory configuration. Obtained results allowed us to calculate Detector Response Matrices for each pixel with Fano noise, hole tailing, charge sharing, and other detector effects included. Final set of DRMs will greatly improve actual solar X-ray spectra analysis after Solar Orbiter launch in 2020.
