Complex investigation of the CNT's properties of small functionalization time
Abstract
This paper is devoted to an experimental study of the initial stages of the carbon nanotubes functionalization. Complex methods of investigation have revealed the processes taking place at the initial stages of functionalization. The study combines methods of Raman spectroscopy, a conductometric titration method, a dielectric relaxation spectroscopy method, and a wetting contact angle. The correlated of results these methods were conducted. It is shown that at the initial stages of acid treatment the process of purging CNTs from the amorphous carbon phase and metal clusters dominates. Authors found that CNTs conductivity are increase after an hour of functional processing by the order of magnitude. The result of the electrophysical and activation processes study did not reveal a significant change in the band structure of the nanotubes up to 1.5 hours of acid treatment. A hydrophobic coating with a contact angle of 140 ° was obtained.
