Crustal Torsional Oscillations and Nuclear Symmetry Energy
Abstract
We systematically examine the crustal torsional oscillations as changing the saturation parameters, stellar mass, and radius. Then, by identifying the quasiperiodic oscillations observed in the giant flares with the crustal torsional oscillations, we are successful to make a constraint on the value of the slope of the nuclear symmetry energy at the saturation density.
