A Generalized Software Approach to Monte Carlo Constraint of Luminosity Function Evolutionary Parameters
Abstract
We present a new cross-platform software package capable of constraining the redshift evolution of a given survey through Monte-Carlo regression. Where most analyses create custom routines specific to the given inputs, we have put emphasis on re-usability and generalization in the creation of our routine, and it is designed such that any sample, regardless of size, selection features, sensitivity, or regime can be analyzed given an appropriate luminosity function template and library of SEDs. The open source code may also be modified to accommodate unforeseen variables by the knowledgeable user, however any user may perform a fit through the interactive IDL interface. We present this tool and an example analysis performed on two infrared samples.
