Różnorodność wód podziemnych województwa małopolskiego i ich wykorzystanie / The diversity of the Małopolskie voivodeship groundwaters and their usage
Abstract
The paper presents the diversity of the groundwater in the area of the Małopolskie voivodeship. Particularly noteworthy are carbonated waters and waters containing carbon dioxide occurring in the Poprad river valley as well as chloride carbonated waters known from the vicinity of Szczawnica, Krościenko, and Szczawa. These waters are used mainly in health resorts and bottling. The thermal waters occurring chiefly in the area of the Podhale Basin also play an important role. Due to the favourable geological and structural conditions these waters have low mineralization (up to 3 g/dm3) and high temperature (up to 86°C) at outflow. They are used mainly for leisure activities, and to a lesser extent for heating purposes.
