A New Air Mass Zero Calibration Facility Using The High Altitude Balloon Method
Abstract
High altitude balloon calibration of solar cells is one of the earliest and most relied upon methods for calibrating solar cells under Air Mass Zero (AM0). The US has recently embarked on a program to develop a new high altitude solar cell calibration facility. A consortium of the US Air Force, NASA and the Naval Research Laboratory are developing this new facility. The inaugural flight for the payload is scheduled for July, 2011.
