Status of search for an LGM age depleted ocean reservoir
Abstract
In order to explain the 180% decline in 14C to C ratio in atmospheric CO2 and surface ocean carbon during the Mystery Interval requires either a twofold decrease in 14C production rate or the demise of an LGM isolated ocean reservoir. The records of 10Be in ice cores and of benthic-planktic age differences appear to include both explanations. Hence the term Mystery Interval.
