Anillos planetarios: propiedades dinamicas, origen y evolucion
Abstract
This review summarizes the main dynamical properties of the planetary rings, mainly concerning their origin and evolution. Particularly, we discuss the different sources of dissipation of orbital energy, which, for the known systems, render orbital
decay timescales much shorter than the age of the Solar system. We describe briefly the dynamical theory of torque-transference between the planetary disk and the satellites, which, under the proper conditions, can counteract the dissipative orbital decay. It is also discussed the case of narrow, excentric rings for which additional conditions are required in order to maintain the excentricity of the ring and their periastron alignement. Finally, some of the most recent topics in the study of planetary rings, are commented. FULL TEXT IN SPANISH- Publication:
