Line formation regions of Fe II and H lines in extended envelopes of Be stars
Abstract
In the present work we study the structure of the extended envelope of Be stars through the analysis of the emission lines that appear in their spectra.
Using simple theoretical models to interpret the information given by the shape, intensity, variability, etc. of Fe and H line profiles, we derive physical characteristics (excitation temperature, opacity, extension, etc.) of their forming regions. This allows us to obtain a global picture of the physical conditions, geometry and kinematical properties of the circumstellar matter.- Publication:
