Phase diagram of the electron-doped high Tc superconductors as a function of doping and magnetic field as revealed by Raman spectroscopy
Abstract
We report Electronic Raman Spectroscopy data taken with polarized light on single crystals and oriented films of Pr_2-xCe_xCuO_4-δ and Nd_2-xCe_xCuO_4-δ for different cerium dopings (0.13 to 0.18). Data showing the variation of the pair-breaking 2Δ features with doping, magnetic field, temperature and light polarization will be presented. We find a crossover from anisotropic gap to isotropic gap with increasing cerium doping. The effect of temperature (4 to 30 K) and magnetic field (0 to 9 T) on the intensity and peak position of the 2Δ features for various dopings will be discussed. Our results are important for understanding phase coherence and pairing in these materials. We have determined the temperature, doping and momentum dependence of the quasi-elastic scattering times of these materials from the Raman spectra in the normal state and will compare these to the resistivity data.
