Model of an Imaging System that is Used for Diagnosing a Gas Jet Plasma Source
Abstract
An optical imaging system has been constructed in the laboratory for studying the spatial profile and temporal evolution of a gas jet plasma source, which is being used in plasma wave excitation experiments. A detailed conputaional model has been created to study this imaging system from the physical optics and Fourier optics points of view. The techniques used to extract information on the properties of the plasma and plasma waves will be discussed.
