Self-energy of low energy quasielectrons and quasiholes in graphite.
Abstract
We present the results of a first principles calculation of the energies and linewidths of low energy (up to ≈ 4 eV) quasielectrons and quasiholes in graphite. The spectral function has been evaluated within the GW approximation from the LDA orbitals and energies using a real space and imaginary time method. A subsequent analytic continuation to real frequencies was carried out by means of Padé approximants. In this work, the linewidth of both quasielectrons and quasiholes is shown as a function of their renormalized energies along various directions of the Brillouin zone, and the linear dependence of the linewidth with the energy is also investigated.
