Photon, neutral pion measurement in p+Au collisions
Abstract
We report photon and neutral pion measurements in p+Au collision at 18Gev/c in AGS Experiment 910 at Brookhaven National Laboratory. A large acceptance of EOS Time Projection Chamber and high Z target ( Au ) enable us to measure electron-positron pairs that are converted from photons inside the target. These photons are predominantly from neutral pions. Neutral channel measurements give us a new insight of particle production mechanism in addition to charged particles. We present the inclusive cross-section for p+Au -> pizero. The decay product from short-lived mesons ( ρ, ω ) and comparisons with charged pions will also be discussed.
