New signal processing for wavelength modulation spectroscopy: application to an industrial methane sensor
Abstract
We present a CH 4 optical sensor using a 1.31 μm distributed feedback (DFB) InGaAsP laser diode. This sensor uses a new signal processing providing auto-calibration to cancel emitter amplitude variations as well as changes in the optical transmission not due to the gas and enabling to measure the concentration of gases accurately. The realization of a low cost industrial prototype of this methane sensor is reported.
