High-Resolution Optogalvanic Spectrum of N +2 Using a Ti:Sapphire Laser: The (2,0) Vibration Band of the Meinel System A2Π u- X2Σ +g
Abstract
The rotational structure of the (2,0) vibrational band of the A2Πu-X2Σ+g system of N+2 has been studied under Doppler-limited resolution by Laser Optogalvanic Spectroscopy (LOGS) using a Ti:sapphire laser. Numerous new high-N rotational transitions, as well as new subbands, have been observed and measured with an absolute accuracy of 0.007 cm-1, leading to improved molecular parameters. Rotational and kinetic temperatures have also been determined in pure N2 and Ar/N2 plasmas.
