Optimal control of flood flow by DDP method
Abstract
In this report, a pseudo-optimal control method, the Differential Dynamic Programming (DDP) method, is applied to the flood flow control problem. Flood flow is described by the linear shallow water equation. A two-step, explicit, finite element method is adopted for the numerical implementation. As a numerical example, a simple reservoir problem is illustrated.
