Diffusion analogy and shock capturing for solving aerodynamic equations
Abstract
The behavior of solutions near a shock is examined, and the mechanism of oscillation generation is investigated heuristically. A differential approximation of the difference scheme is used to define a diffusion analogy equation and a diffusion analogy coefficient. Four methods for improving the resolution of a shock are proposed. The approach proposed here is shown to produce satisfactory results.
