Positional photographic observations of the Mars satellites made at Pulkovo and Ordubad in 1988
Abstract
Photographic positional observations of Phobos and Deimos made at the Pulkovo 26-inch refractor and the Ordubad lunar-planetary telescope in 1988 are reported. The planetocentric coordinates of the satellites and their mutual distances are determined by the trace-scale method without reference stars. The positions are given in the coordinate system at the observational instant. A comparison with Shor's theory (1976) is made. The rms error of one 'satellite minus Mars' observation, calculated on the basis of the comparison with the theory, is +/- 0.4 arcsec for the entire observational period.
