Interpretation of atmospheric transmittance measurements along tangential tracks, taking into account the angular aperture of the spectrometric instrument
Abstract
A method is proposed for including the values of the angular aperture of the spectrometric instrument in the solution of inverse problems of determining the gaseous composition of the atmosphere from measurements of transmittance along tangential tracks. Using the equations derived, the effect of the angular resolution of the spectrometric instrument on the accuracy of the retrieval of vertical ozone profiles is investigated.
