Photoemission study of electron-doped superconducting cuprates
Abstract
A photoemission study was performed on n-type superconducting Re(2-x)Ce(x)CuO(4-delta) (Re = Pr, Nd, and Sm) and Nd2CuO(4-y)F(y). Predominantly 3d character is induced by doping with F-charge carriers. The O 2p band hybridized with the Cu 3d-band is narrower and shifted more toward higher binding energies than p-type high-Tc superconductors. The Re elements are trivalent, with decreasing hybridization between the 4f electrons with an O 2p band at E(B) = 4 eV.
