Velocities and the line-of-sight distribution of molecular clouds close to the Galactic Centre.
Abstract
Blends among absorption profiles produced by molecular clouds detected in high-resolution spectra of bright infrared sources clustered around the direction of the Galactic center are reexamined. It is concluded, in agreement with earlier kinematic studies of hot neutral gas in the circumnuclear ring, that the Galactic center and the local standard of rest are separating at about 40 km/s.
