Dislocation distribution of the wavefront of a field of laser emission transmitted through a fiber-optic waveguide
Abstract
The dislocation density distribution of the wavefront of a coherent optical field at the exit of a multimode fiber-optic waveguide is investigated theoretically and experimentally. A formula is derived which describes the dependence of the dislocation density on the transverse coordinate. The experimental data obtained are found to be in qualitative agreement with theoretical predictions.
