Noise reduction in the automotive test cell of the Motor Institute of Naples
Abstract
An ergonomical and physiological study was carried out following the installation of noise reduction equipment in a motor test cell. All measurements were made using a diesel engine. The noise in the cabin is effectively reduced to 80 dBA. The physiological tests show the danger of a permanent increase in the auditory threshold level for individuals exposed to high noise levels. Measurements of capillary dilation confirm that working under the reduced noise condition is safe.
