The role of a domestic SS-TDMA satellite system in the network evolution strategy towards the ISDN
Abstract
The integration of a SS-TDMA satellite system with demand-assignment into an Integrated Services Digital Network (ISDN) is discussed. The advantages of an ISDN in telecommunications are described. The characteristics of telecommunication satellites and the application of a SS-TDMA satellite to a ISDN are examined. The speech and data circuits configuration and the signaling at the interface between the switching exchange and the ground station are studied.
