Radiative damping of two-dimensional plasmons
Abstract
A theoretical study is made of the emission of electromagnetic waves by a two-dimensional electron plasma in an open-resonator system in which a metallic diffraction grating is deposited on an MOS structure. A model is proposed which makes it possible to obtain an approximate solution to this radiation problem, while retaining the main features of the actual experimental conditions (the diffraction problem does not admit an exact solution). The radiative width of plasma resonance is calculated along with corrections to the dispersion law for two-dimensional plasmons.
