A short-baseline measuring complex with space-diversity reception (the D1 method) at Iakutsk, Zhigansk, and Tiksi
Abstract
The design and operation of the diversity-reception facilities for measuring ionospheric drift by the D1 technique at the Iakutsk, Zhigansk, and Tiksi stations are described, and a block diagram and a diagram of the antenna field are provided. Observations at this meridional chain of stations have made possible a study of the detailed pattern of plasma convection in the F-region at high latitudes, plasma drift velocities in the evening sector, and substorm effects on the plasma drift structure in the F-region.
