Reflection of electromagnetic waves from a moving spread interface
Abstract
The Maxwell equations are used to obtain a general expression for the angular and spectral distributions of the energy of emission from an arbitrary source in a medium whose permittivity has a small component which depends on coordinates and time. A general expression is also given for the characteristics of waves reflected from an arbitrarily moving interface. Also obtained are the spectral energy density, the total power, and the reflection coefficient of waves reflected from a smooth interface (having the form of an Epstein transition layer) undergoing harmonic oscillations.
