Wideband analog communications systems having complex signals
Abstract
Attention is given to the use of complex signals in analog systems for continuous transmission over radio channels having constant and randomly varying parameters and additive random and concentrated noise. Methods of constructing complex analog signals are considered, and algorithms for optimal (adaptive) and quasi-optimal reception are determined. The required receiving equipment is described, with an analysis made of the equipment's ability to suppress noise and interference. Recommendations are made for selecting the bandwidth-duration product on the basis of the type of noise encountered.
