Evaluation of the effect of the external background on the recording of lidar signals
Abstract
It is shown that background noise in a lidar system leads to a reduction of the reconstructed profile of the attenuation coefficient along the lidar sounding path. Numerical modeling is used to determine the bounds of influence of the background noise; the Kovalev method is used for the processing of lidar signals.
