Use of a dye laser to produce shadowgraph patterns of the plasma of a laser spark
Abstract
Experimental results are presented on the use of dye lasers operating at H-alpha wavelength in order to obtain shadow photographs of laser-spark plasma in hydrogen. Data on resonant radiation absorption in the plasma are obtained, and attention is given to shock wave development in a wide range of pressures (5-60 atm).
