Measurement of the decay rate for the process K0L-->μ+μ-
Abstract
The branching ratio Γ(K0L-->μ+μ-)Γ(K0L-->π+π-) has been measured and found to be 4.0+1.4-0.9×10-6. With the same apparatus the branching ratio Γ(K0L-->π+π-)Γ(K0L-->all) has been measured to be (2.01+/-0.09)×10-3. The combination of these two results gives Γ(K0L-->μ+μ-)Γ(K0L-->all)=8.1+2.8-1.8×10-9. This result is consistent with the lower bound predicted from the decay rate KL-->γγ and unitarity.
