Measurements of point and line rainfall rates for microwave attenuation studies
Abstract
Point and line rainfall rates observed by rapid-response rain gauges have been related for paths of 2, 4 and 7.5 km. The attenuations caused by rain on transmissions at 10.7, 19.4 and 36.05 GHz on a 7.5 km path have been compared with attenuations derived from the line rainfall rates.
