The electrical resistivity of 244Cm metal
Abstract
Electrical resistivity measurements on 244Curium metal confirm that Curium is the first magnetically ordering metal in the actinide series, with a Néel-temperature of 52.5 K. The room temperature resistivity of about 125 μω-cm, and some other physical and chemical properties show that Curium is very similar to its homologue in the lanthanide series, gadolinium. The magnetic contribution to the electrical resistivity is separated by using the electrical resistivity of americium as phonon part.
